Menoufia Water: The water caravan activities conclude in the village of Istabari to raise awareness about rationalizing water consumption.
The Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company concluded the activities of the water caravan in the village of Istabari, affiliated with Shebin El-Kom Center, which lasted for two days, to solve the village’s problems related to drinking water and sanitation.
Engineer Rushdi El-Sayed Omar, Chairman and Managing Director, indicated that the convoy included conducting seminars and plumbing workshops at the health unit and the local council, implementing interactive games for children and drawing and coloring activities for children in schools, installing water-saving devices and repairing plumbing in schools and mosques, raising awareness about the dangers of spraying streets with water, disinfecting the village's water networks, and receiving water-related complaints at the customer service center in Istabari.
He added, “The laboratory and quality control sector team visited a number of houses in the village to take random water samples and analyze them immediately, and all of them were in compliance with standard specifications. The commercial sector was able to detect illegal connections, seize a number of cases, raise awareness of their dangers, and collect outstanding bills as part of the village’s water caravan activities.”
He emphasized that the company is making every effort to conserve every drop of water by conducting workshops to teach women basic plumbing skills so they can repair damaged home plumbing without needing a plumber, thus preventing water waste.
They are also installing water-saving devices in mosques and the village's medical center to help rationalize water consumption.
The caravan's activities concluded with responding to citizens' complaints and inquiries, distributing brochures to them, promoting water-saving parts, and raising awareness among residents about the role of the 125 hotline for receiving complaints about water and sanitation malfunctions, as well as educating the villagers about the various and multiple ways to communicate with the company to solve citizens' problems regarding drinking water and sanitation.
