The head of the Menoufia Water Authority is monitoring the pumping of rainwater accumulations in various parts of the governorate.
Engineer Rushdi El-Sayed Omar, Chairman of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company in Menoufia, confirmed that the highest level of preparedness has been raised to quickly deal with rainwater, with the deployment of teams from the company to clear drains in case of any blockage, as well as the deployment of vacuum trucks to pump water, in order to prevent traffic congestion, especially in the governorate’s cities.
He said: The necessary teams and equipment have been deployed to remove rainwater accumulations in the streets, squares and tunnels to ensure the regularity of the removal of any water accumulations to ensure that the rain does not impede the traffic movement of citizens.
He stressed the need to take all measures, ensure the readiness of equipment and its redeployment to accommodate water pumping, intensify field traffic patrols in areas where rainwater accumulates, continue the cleaning of sewage networks, and have vacuum trucks ready to pump out rainwater accumulations as soon as they occur in order to maintain the regularity of traffic flow.
He also confirmed that the company receives any reports of rainwater accumulation locations in order to move immediately to pump and remove it, by calling the hotline 125 from any landline or mobile phone.
